Haverhill Hillies Girls Lacrosse '16

Bitter end

Haverhill played Chelmsford tough (10-6) in the regular season but in their opening round playoff matchup yesterday the Lions cruised to the 12-3 win. Sydney Demarais, Brooke Martel and Jordyn O'Boyle scored for the Hillies, who finished 15-7. That tied for the most wins in the program's 10-year history.

Emily Schultz scored six goals and Haverhill clinched the MVC Division 2 title with a 14-7 win over Dracut.

Brooke Martel, Liz Brady and Emily Schultz all scored twice and Haverhill scored four goals in each half in an 8-5 win over Lowell, lifting the Hillies to 14-6 on the year.

Rangers rally

Methuen rallied back from a four-goal second half deficit and held on for an 11-10 win over Haverhill.  Miranda Smith and Kate Hulme each had four goals for the winners.

Jordyn O'Boyle's previous high for goals in a game was four, but the sophomore exploded for seven in Haverhill's victory over Tewksbury. She averages around two to three goals a game.

Alex Comeau had 15 saves including two big ones late when Methuen poured it on but Haverhill held on for the 10-9 win. Liz Brady tallied four goals and Missy Toney added two goals and four assists.

Cal Moolic took a pass from Caroline Cloutier and scored with 30 seconds to go in overtime to give Pentucket a 12-11 victory over Haverhill. The Hillies sent the time to OT on a Sydney Demarais goal with six seconds left in regulation.
