Jake Chory scored 17 points but No. 6 seed Pentucket was upset 64-61 in the Division 3 North first round by 11th seed Bedford, which outscored the Sachems by four points in the third quarter and four points again in the fourth. 

Pentucket won it's season finale 65-62 over Saugus to finish at 10-10 and earn a state tourney berth. Ryan Kuchar and Adam Chory scored 10 points apiece while Pat Freiermuth and Will Sullivan had nine each.

Adam Chory knocked down three 3-pointers on his way to 11 points to lead Pentucket past Newburyport 36-21. The Sachems need a victory in their final game, on Thursday at Saugus, to qualify for the tournament.

Derek Hogan scored a career-high 22 points as North Reading nipped Pentucket 55-52. Adam Chory had 14 for the Sachems.

Pentucket started slow and trailed 28-21 at halftime, but a 41-point second half lifted the Sachems to a 62-56 victory over Manchester Essex and improved their record to 6-6.
