Gloucester blanks Saugus

Luke Cosgrove, Shane O'Neill and Ben Hannah each scored for the Fishermen. Nick LoCoco and Alex Trotsky provided the assists while goalkeeper Dom Braga made five saves to earn the shutout. Gloucester (10-2-2) closes out the regular season with three tough games: home to Marblehead, at Swampscott and home to Danvers.

Mondi's goal sends Peabody past Saugus

Dominic Mondi, a junior stopper, came up with what proved to be the winning goal in the first half as the Tanners prevailed over Saugus, 1-0, in a Northeastern Conference matchup.

Peabody has won three straight games.

Fishermen fight for hard-earned win, blank Saugus

GLOUCESTER | Normally a soccer score of 4-0 would indicate a blowout.

But in Gloucester's 4-0 victory over Saugus last night at Newell Stadium, that was not the case. The Fishermen defense stopped numerous second-half scoring chances for Saugus, and caught a few breaks to come away with the victory.

Magicians cruise

Marblehead rolled past Saugus 5-2. Sam Terrell, Pat Murphy and Ellery Smith each scored for the Magicians, who also got goals from Nick Belesis, Jess Lipkind and Simon Crowe. Goalie George Kaltsas also played well, making seven saves and stopping a penalty kick in the second half.
