Salem boys soccer keeps rolling, beats Danvers

The Witches (8-2-1 overall, 8-1-1 in league play) haven't won the NEC boys soccer crown in over 20 years, but remain one of the favorites to do so this year after yesterday's 3-1 win over Danvers.

Steve Bifsha scored a pair of goals for the winners while sophomore Nuur Mahamed added his first varsity goal.

Salem downs Swampscott

Salem edged Swampscott, 2-1. Alex Vargas and Max Mondestin scored for the Witches while Mike Steeves and Aparicio Smart recorded assists. The Big Blue goal was from Rocky Nenshati, who was assisted by his twin brother Chris.

Chris Ciampa scored two goals and two assists as Danvers put 31 shots on goal and rolled past Winthrop 6-0. Nick Strangie also scored twice and added an assist, while Wesley Moreira had a goal and a helper.
