LAWRENCE — Coughing up a 10-0 lead to arch-rival Central Catholic in the third quarter, Methuen handed the Raiders momentum and the means to pull off a major shocker.

On the ropes turned out to be exactly where the Rangers wanted to be, spoiling the Raiders' Senior Night before a crowd of about 1,500.

METHUEN — Corey Shepherd saw the ball heading to another receiver.

“I through it was going to Kevin Higgins,” he said. “He might have tipped it. But it went into my hands and I dove into the end zone and scored.”

HAVERHILL — Methuen defensive back Mike Capomaccio provided a simple answer when asked about the way the Rangers defense played in a 34-0 victory over Haverhill last night.  

“The defense always plays well,” Capomaccio said, adamantly. “We really haven’t played bad yet, so it is what’s excepted of us.”
