Pentucket beats Amesbury in role reversal for field hockey programs

A pair of Lyndsay Beaton goals was the difference in an evenly played game as Pentucket beat Amesbury, 2-0.

After leading 1-0 at halftime, the Sachems put the finishing touches on the Indians off Sarah Galligan's penalty corner. Beaton sent her second goal home, and the Indians couldn't find any scoring of their own.

Andrusin, Boringa lead North Andover

Kathie Andrusin and Katie Boringa each scored twice to pace North Andover to a 5-1 win over Pentucket. Candace Waldie scored the other goal for the Knights (17-0) while Pentucket got its lone goal from Sarah Galligan. North Andover, which wrapped up the Cape Ann League title, is now 38-1-4 over the last two years.

Pentucket moving to the front of the pack in Cape Ann League

Last year's Pentucket field hockey team was the first in program history to post a tournament victory.

So for a squad that returned nine seniors this fall, there was instant pressure to eclipse that accomplishment. "Coming into the season, we knew having all of these seniors would either work out really well, or it wouldn't work at all," said co-captain Briana Dunn.
