North Andover used two goalies, Meg Foster and Steph Twomey in a 3-0 field hockey win over Pentucket and neither one had a save. Michelle Martin led the offense for the Knights (11-1-3) with two goals.

A goal six minutes into second-half action earned Newburyport a 1-0 victory and eliminated Pentucket from postseason consideration. Stellar first-half defense from Laura Kuchar combined with strong play from sophomore Charlotte Pope, Victoria Knight and Cassandra Koegel to keep the Sachems (4-11-1) competitive.

“Everything really came together,” said Pentucket coach Ruth Beaton of the Sachems' 3-0 defeat of Hamilton-Wenham. Bernadette Corrado had two goals while the defense was sparked by Victoria Knight, Sarah Dillon and Corinne Colpitts.

Pentucket caught a tough break when Rockport scored with 35 seconds left to earn a 2-1 field hockey victory. Bernadette Corrado tallied for the Sachems.

Pentucket's field hockey team had powerhouse Manchester Essex tied at halftime, 1-1, before finally dropping a 3-1 decision.

 "They've been killing everyone, but we played very well against them," said Pentucket coach Ruth Beaton. "We'll take this kind of effort any time."

Miranda Ballard's first-half goal was enough for Amesbury to get past Pentucket, 1-0, in the season opener for both teams. Sarah Dillon played an impressive defensive contest in the loss for the Sachems.
