“I was just supposed to block on the play,” said Musumarra. “Then, there was no one there to block and I just looked up and was staring at the football. I had no idea how I got out there.”

Last night before a packed house of about 2,000 at Nicholson Stadium, Cal Carroll, Raudy Minaya and the Rangers chiseled out their own chapter in this history matchup, rally from nine points down in a frenzied final 12 minutes.

LOWELL — Lowell did a good job scouting for last night’s Merrimack Valley Conference matchup with Central Catholic.

However, Central did a better job of adjusting, the result being a 21-0 shutout for the Raiders (5-1), who won their fifth straight game.

Central running game rolls over Haverhill

HAVERHILL — Before most of the fans had settled in their seats, Andrew Ouellette had all but closed out a victory for Central Catholic.

After just 4:14 of play, Ouellette had rushed for one touchdown and returned an interception for another, and he added a third score by the end of the first quarter as the Raiders downed Haverhill 44-14 last night.
