Cassandra Davis was 3 for 4 with a triple for Newburyport (11-3). Rachel Webster was 2 for 4 with a triple. Lindsey Tomasz went 2 for 4. Beth Castantini was 3 for 4 with a triple. Laney Catcher was 2 for 4 with an RBI.

Shattering slump

Georgetown freshman Taylor Nelson broke out of a min-slump in a big way in a 6-5 win over Wilmington. She was 3 for 3 and provided the winning runs in the bottom of the seventh with a two-run homer that scored winning pitcher Sarah Erlandson (2 for 4), who struck out 12 and walked four while allowing just four hits.

Amesbury's Jackie Weber and Gabby Magnifico had two hits each. Kaitlyn Bartley had a three-run home run. Ali French hit a solo home run. Michelle Ring pitched a four-hitter and struck out four.
