Oh so close

North Andover pushed the game to a second overtime but Winchester emerged victorious, 9-8. Winchester lucked out when a Knights defender accidentally flipped the ball into his own net. Goaltender Brien O'Connor made 17 huge saves to keep North Andover in it, and Tyler Zahoruiko led the way with four points (two goals, two assists). Brian Amor chipped in a hat trick.

Knights convincingly clinch CAL

North Andover clinched the Cape Ann League title and avenged an early-season loss to Masconomet after rolling to an easy 8-2 victory over the third-place Chieftains. Alex Blane (two goals, one assist) and Rob Morandi (goal, assist) led the way offensively, and Brien O'Connor turned aside 10 shots in a strong effort.

Colin Foley netted the game-winner on a feed from John Carney with just 44 seconds to play in the game as North Andover narrowly edged Hamilton-Wenham, 6-5. The Knights' team defense, led by Andrew McIntyre, has stepped up as of late.

Pentucket goalie Brandon Haley played marvelous keeping the short-handed Sachems, who were without three players, in the game with 17 saves. But North Andover was too deep. Pentucket's Anthony Pagliarulo also played good defense, according to coach Brian Williams.

Magnificent Morandi

Reeling and trailing Triton 6-5 in the third, North Andover's laxmen turned to Rob Morandi. The senior midfielder ripped off three straight goals in three minutes to turn the tide in a 9-6 Knight win. Bob Berman helped out with a big defensive effort, and Brien O'Connor was active in goal to key the North Andover transition game.
