Methuen's Jason Buco held the Governor's Academy hitless into the sixth inning, finishing with a one-hit gem as Brooks prevailed, 4-0. Buco fanned 14 in going the distance, getting valuable breathing room in the close contest when Alex Clapp delivered a two-run double in the bottom of the sixth inning to create a 3-0 lead.

Brooks 6, St Sebastian 3

Michael Johnson tossed a 15-strikeout, two-hitter in Brooks 6-3 win over St. Sebastian. The Georgetown resident, who is on his way to Dartmouth next season, retired the last nine batters in order and registered six strikouts in that stretch.

Buco, bats buffer Brooks

A sparkling pitching performance by Methuen's Jason Buco was rewarded in Brooks' 11-1 upset of Lawrence Academy. Buco tossed a four-hit complete game, striking out six. The offense exploded for 10 runs in the last three frames. Alex Clapp drove in three runs for Brooks (5-8-1) while Matt Geremia slapped out a pair of hits, scored twice and had two RBIs.

Cline reaches milestone in rout of Brooks

Phillips Academy’s Andy Cline has been a part of many landmark events in his time as the head coach of the varsity baseball team, and yesterday he reached another.

With an 11-0 win over Brooks, Cline registered the 300th victory of his career. As usual, he was modest about the accomplishment.

Leading 4-2 in the bottom of the sixth inning, Brooks suffered a six-run onslaught at the hands of powerful BB&N, losing 8-4. Georgetown's Michael Johnson was a powerhouse on the mound, throwing a three-hitter and striking out seven before departing on a chilly afternoon after five innings. Matt Geremia continued to be a force at the leadoff spot, rapping a pair of hits and driving in a run, while playing flawless shortstop.
