Andover playoff bound

Andover pitched a second-half shutout, leading to a 12-4 victory over Masconomet and a berth in the stste tournament. Gavin McIver was a consistent winner of faceoffs and did well on offensive transition. The Golden Warrior defense (Jimmy Johnson, Matt Murray, Vinny Christiano and Andrew Carroll) was exemplary in front of goaltender Jake Gostanian (seven saves).

NORTH ANDOVER — Even the fudge from the post-game brownies couldn’t cover-up North Andover’s spirits after the 11-9 win over arch-rival Andover.

"This has a special meaning when it is Andover-North Andover," said Knights coach Steve Connolly. "We needed a win like this against a quality team, and it’s always a great game when we get together. We feel fortunate."

Five-Star performance for Lamagna

Joe Lamagna scored five times to lead perfect Andover (5-0) to a 12-6 win over Chelmsford. The Golden Warriors exploded for five unanswered goals in the third period to break open a 4-4 intermission.  Josh Torres (three goals, one assist) and Connor Gaffney (2 goals, 2 assists) were both key contributors to back Jake Gostanian's 12-save performance.
