After falling in last year’s state final, the Lancers scored redemption, capturing the first state title in program history with a 9-6 win over rival Pinkerton in the Division 1 championship.

Astros, Lancers headed to finals

Setting up the dream No. 1 vs. No. 2 showdown in the Division 1 finals, second-seeded Pinkerton slid by No. 3 Exeter, 9-7, in the semifinals. Casey Konnal and Nicole Curry each potted three goals, and Heather Carr led the team with four points (1 goal, 3 assists).

Pinkerton pounds Central

Behind a four-goal effort from Rory Fawcett, Pinkerton topped Manchester Central 18-5 in the Division 1 quarterfinals. Danica Whitehouse, Nicole Curry and Kacie Connal all had hat tricks, and Diana Kraus turned aside two shots.

Pinkerton outlasted Exeter to come away with a big 15-13 overtime win. Heather Carr led the team in points with two goals and six assists, Kacie Connal had a team-high four goals, and Nikki Curry chipped in a hat trick, as well.

Defense does the job

Londonderry held Pinkerton to just a pair of goals in yesterday's 8-2 victory. Kayla Green, Marcie Marino and Dana Boyle all recorded a pair of tallies. Said coach Bob Slater, "To hold a team like Pinkerton to two goals, it says a lot for the defensive side of our game."

Londonderry takes down Pinkerton in overtime

Josie Bezerdy's goal with no time left in regulation was disallowed after an error with the clock and Londonderry coach Bob Slater took exception. "We played the overtime under protest." Lucky for Slater it didn't matter as his Lancers downed rival Pinkerton 13-12 in the extra session. Meghann Mellen scored her lone goal with 1;16 to play in the six-minute overtime. Taylor Hadcock had a huge day in goal stopping 17 shots.

Connal crushes Sabres

Kacie Connal racked up four goals and an assist to lead Pinkerton in a 9-4 win over Souhegan. Rory Fawcett added a pair of helpers and Diana Kraus chipped in with seven saves in net.

Year of the Cat

Cat Gross scored with 50 seconds remaining in regulation to send the game into overtime, then scored twice in the extra session to give Andover a 12-9 victory over Pinkerton, dealing the powerhouse Astros their first loss of the season. Gross finished the day with seven goals while Heather Sullivan, in her secomd game back from injury, had a hat trick.

Pinkerton lax take two

The Pinkerton boys and girls lacrosse teams took two from Yarmouth with the boys winning 12-8 and the girls winning 8-4. Kacie Connal had three goals and an assist for the girls, and Tom Auger had four goals and two assists for the boys.
