Historic win for Chieftains

The Masconomet-North Andover girls hockey team dropped Beverly-Gloucester, 4-1, in its first-ever tourney win. The score was knotted at 1-1 through two periods, but the Chieftains erupted for three third-period goals to seal the win. Jenn Pino (goal, assist), Alyssa Sady (two assists) and Lauren Cerretani (assist), all three of North Andover, combined for five much-needed points. Meg Twomey, also of North Andover, did some great work down low, and goalie Alex Jones nabbed 22 saves.

Salvaging a tie

Meghan Twomey of North Andover scored with two minutes left on a power play and then assisted on a Hannah Koenig goal with one second left as the Masconomet/North Andover girls hockey team rally to tie Beverly 3-3.

Drew's two leads Andover

Laura Drew netted two goals as the Andover girls hockey team topped Beverly, 3-1. Katie Shields rounded out the scoring with the Warriors' third goal, and Sarah Oteri recorded a pair of helpers. Megan Pettoruto turned aside eight shots to help Andover (7-2-1) secure its seventh win of the season.

North Andover's Jen Pino scored two goals and assisted on another to help the Masconomet-North Andover girls hockey team to a 4-1 win over Beverly. Meghan Twoomey, also of North Andover, had a goal and Lauren Ceretani added an assist.
