Brooks School fought valiantly and earned a 56-51 win over Roxbury Latin to finish up at 10-9. Methuen junior Jason Buco scored a dozen points, adding 10 rebounds and four assists in the victory for Brooks. Derek Murphy paced Brooks with 15 points.

Junior Jason Buco tossed in a career-high 15 points, none bigger than the four straight free throws in the final two minutes that lifted Brooks past BB&N, 59-55.

The 6-foot-1 guard from Methuen added eight rebounds and five assists in what coach John McVeigh termed a "superb all-around game."

Johnson nails four treys in huge win

Brooks continued to gain momentum after its season opening win over New Hampton this past Wednesday, downing Pingree, 55-38, to improve to 2-0.

Jordan Johnson was flat-out dominant, draining seven field goals, including four threes, for a game-high 18 points. For the second straight game, Jason Buco (seven points, seven rebounds) staggered the opposition on defense, and Tim Glen racked up a double-double thanks to a 12-point, 12-rebound performance, both career highs.
