Sam Stabile had a huge day for the Haverhill girls track team, winning the 50-yard dash (6.2) and high jump (4-9). The Hillies, now 4-0. took first in seven events as they dominated Lowell, 52-34. Lisa Betances had her best career throw by some 10 inches, tossing the shot put 34-11 3/4 for another Haverhill first place finish.
Read More »The Central Catholic girls track team dominated Lowell, 65-21, thanks to a great combined effort from sisters Megan and Lanie Jowett. Megan took first in the 2-mile in 12:12.9, and younger sister Lanie won the 1,000 in 2:58.9. The Raiders had five other first place finishes, including Shelby White in the dash, Katie Lafrance in the hurdles, Stephanie Metayer in the mile, Lauren Berg in the shot put, and Kristen Wilson in the high jump.
