Brooks surges past Milton

Ayo Iwuagwu score two goals and Jon Stronach added a goal and an assist as Brooks defeated Milton Academy 4-0 to improve to 3-3. Milton fell to 0-7-1. Coach Dusty Richard praised his team performance despite a long ride and heavy rains and lauded his forwards for being very "inventive" on offense.

Backup steps up

Brooks edged Groton 2-1 in boys soccer as Nick Vozella assissted Ayo Iwuagwu twice and freshman Cam Johst stepped in to fill the void left by starting goalie Glen Martin, who left the game with internal injuries. Johst finished with 7 saves and coach Dusty Richard said the freshman played "remarkably well."

Brooks 2, BB&N 1

Huge upset

After opening the season with two straight losses, the Brooks boys soccer team needed a boost and they got it yesterday with a 2-1 win over BB&N, the defending Independent School League champion and a Prep Class A finalist. "This was an enormous upset," said Brooks coach Dusty Richard. "They only lost one player from last year." Ayo Awuagwu had a goal and an assist for Brooks and Ryan Daley also scored. Andreas Burbank-Crump of North Andover was superb on defense and goalie Glen Martin shined while making 12 saves.
