Parrott flies ahead

It was a good day for Andover's Jodi Parrott at the annual MVC Freshman/Sophomore meet. The freshman took first in the long jump (18-9.5), winning by over a foot, then took first in the 100 hurdles by over two seconds (15.36).

Andover scores two relay titles

Andover's javelin relay (272-4) and 4x100 shuttle hurdles relay (1:05.07) ran to victories as the Golden Warriors placed second as a team at the MSTCA Division 1 State Relays with 50 points, just four points behind winner Natick.

Andover added a second in the pole vault and three third-place finishes.
 
Methuen's Abygaelle Silien and Geraldine Mendez Gomez teamed with Kate McDonnell to take third in the shot put relay (90-4.25) and Paulina Encarnacion to place fourth in the discus relay (245-4).
 
Haverhill's Delani Dorsey, Jen Sahagian, Claudia Miner and Gabby DeRoche were fourth in the distance medley relay (12:58.18).

Kitchings' big day

Haverhill senior Jayla Kitchings shattered the school's long jump record with a mark of 18-8, 10 inches better than Phoung Nguyen's 17-7 in 1996. Despite Kitchings' record, along with a win in the 100-meter hurdles, Andover topped Haverhill, 85-58. Abby Buckley won both the shot put and discus, while Julianna Kennedy took the 200-meter and Olivia Foster won the pole vault. Both ran a leg of Andover's winning 4x100, too.
