Lawrence's Alex Suarez placed an area-leading fifth at the All-State pentathlon with a final score of 3,185 points. He placed third at the EMass. Division 1 pentathlon last week.

Caggianelli can

Anthony Caggianelli had a dominant day for the Central Catholic track and field team, winning three events to help the Raiders beat Andover, 102-43. The senior won the triple jump (40-4), the 110 hurdles (14.1) and the 100 meters (10.9).

Raiders edge Knights

Central Catholic boys track and field came out on top of North Andover, 78-67, behind several impressive performances. Evan Mills, AJ Caggianelli and James Pothier all won two events apiece for Central. North Andover's 4x100 (Mike Harris, Tyler Glendon, Sebastian Vente, Trevor Nassar) and 4x400 (Luke Hardy, Peter Martel, Andrew Howard, Matt Chicko) relay teams earned victories for the Knights.

Knights take first at relays

Led by five first-place finishes, the North Andover boys track and field team won the EMass Division 2 relays with 80 points, beating out Reading (64) and Central Catholic (57). It's the third relay title in the program's history (2013, 2014). The 4x200 team of Tyler Glendon, Peter Coufos, Luke Hardy and Trevor Nassar were the highlight of the day, breaking the school record in 1:31.30.

Mills runs the show

Central Catholic's Evan Mills won three different events as the Raiders topped Haverhill, 83.5-61.5. Mills won the pole vault (9-6), triple jump (40-8) and 400 hurdles (61.7). Haverhill's Sean Glass stood out for the Hillies, winning the 100 (10.7) and 200 (22.2).
