Sarah Janco and Haley Merrill both launched home runs as Central Catholic scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth to pull away from Andover for an 8-5 win.

Ashley Cocchiaro allowed three hits and one run over seven innings of work to lead Andover softball in a pivotal  5-1 win over North Andover. Paige Gillette led the Warrior offense with two RBIs.

Haverhill softball upended Andover, 12-5, to win its fifth game in a row after starting the season 1-5. Kerrin McLaughlin led the way with a 2 for 3 performance, including a grand slam and five RBIs.

Alexa Pacy went 3 for 4 with three RBIs, leading Andover to a 12-0 win over Tewksbury and notching the 100th hit of her career. In the circle, Sarah Folan tossed her second straight three-hit shutout.

Sophomore Sara Folan had an outstanding day as Andover softball topped Methuen, 4-0. Folan pitched a complete game shutout, tossing just 70 pitches, allowing only three hits and striking out five. She also went 2 for 3 at the dish and drove in Andover's first run, which proved to be the winning score.

Andover beat Haverhill, 8-7, in eight innings to remain unbeaten at 5-0. Scarlet Gillette, who supplied three RBIs in a 2-4 performance, drew a walk to bring in the winning run for the Warriors. Alyssa Wilson hit a three-run home run to lead Haverhill with 3 RBIs.

Ashley Cocchiaro's base hit scored Paige Gillette to top off a two-run seventh inning that gave Andover softball a 6-5 walk-off win over Chelmsford. Cocchiaro was also the winning pitcher for the 3-0 Warriors.

Anna Zdunczyk capped off her wonderful 4 for 4 day at the plate with a walk-off double to lead Andover to a dramatic 6-5 win over Billerica. The Warriors (2-0) also got great pitching from Sara Folin, who threw her first complete game and had six strikeouts.

Andover softball and first-year coach Rick Quattrocchi got off to a nice start to the season with a 9-2 season-opening win over Tewksbury. Junior Julianna Barbaro launched a mammoth home run in the first inning, and the Warriors didn't look back. Third basemen Scarlett Gillette "looked liked Brooks Robinson out there" according to her coach.
