Pair of tricks

Both Cassidy Gruning and Julia Masotta scored hat tricks to lead the No. 3 Methuen-Tewksbury girls hockey team to a 6-2 win over Westford in the first round of the Division 1 tournament. The Red Rangers (19-1-1) will play either No. 6 St. Mary's or No. 11 Peabody-Lynnfield-North Reading in the quarterfinals (date and time TBA).

Julia Masotta continued her huge start to the season with a hat trick as Methuen/Tewksbury beat Westford Academy 4-1. Masotta now has nine goales in three games. Kaia Hollingsworth made 20 saves for the winners.
