Double for Dingle

 

McKayla Dingle led all scorers for Haverhill with 22, including six 3-pointers and had 10 assists and 5 steals as Haverhill whipped Lawrence 77-37 to conclude the regular season with a 15-5 record.  Kendall Eddy followed with 15 points and 10 assists for the Hillies, who last won 15 games in 2011-12 and have not won more than 15 since 1998-99.

Central wrestlers lead

 

Central Catholic's wrestling team got off to a great start in the Division 2 state tournament Friday, qualifying seven wrestlers for the semifinals and leading the tourney with 75 points, far ahead of runner-up North Attleboro (45). Greg Spero (113), Mikey Glynn (120), Tyler Glynn (138), Matt Shaw (152), Lewy Baez (182), Mando Binet (195) and Anthony Mears (220) all reached the semis.

Rangers prevail

Metbuen outscored Lawrence 18-9 in the fourth quarter en route to a 63-50 win. Olivia Barron 16, Kaitlyn Tierney 14, Stephanie Tardugno 12 and Katy Dorandi 12 led Methuen. Portia Batistine had 15 for LHS.

Portia Batistine scored 19 points, Telaisha Solier scored 17 and Yarleen Betances chipped in 15 as Lawrence girls basketball earned a 55-50 win over Methuen. Kaitlyn Tierney had 13 points for the Rangers.

First win

North Andover girls basketball took down Lawrence, 54-24, to give first-year coach Jess Deveny her first win. Emma Liporto (11 points), Caitlin Panos (10 points) and Hannah Whipple (10 points) all scored in double figures for the Knights (1-3), who are primed to take on Andover in the first round of the Commonwealth Motors Christmas Classic.
