Sachems now 15-8

 

Pentucket won two meets at the Travis Yell dual tournament, which was won by Triton, as the Sachems improved to 15-8. Chris Legacy, who is now 32-9 on the year, was 2-0 at 145 and Korey Scheffen improved to 32-8 with a pair of wins at 152.

Mezidor wins title

 

 

Ader Mezidor was an impressive champion for Greater Lawrence in the CAC/State Vocational meet Saturday. The senior Reggie breezed to the 170-pound title, recording a 24-second pin in the finals.

Pentucket wins crown

 

Surprising Pentucket won its second tournament of the season, edging Spaulding, Vt. by one point to capture the Gionet Tournament in Pelham.

Tyler Knox remained unbeaten to capture the 106-pound title and Jason Young provided more gold with the 182-pound crown. Nic Williamson  (132) and Jacob Codair (220) both came in second.

Maslanek prevails again

 

Pelham sophomore Conor Maslanek had two pins and remained unbeaten as he captured the 195-pound crown in impressive fashion at the Chelmsford Tournament.

Tyler Knox had three first-period pins to remain unbeaten and pace Pentucket to two wins and a tie in a quad-meet. Also, Chris Legacy, Nic Williamson and Korey Scheffen were perfect on the day with two pins as the Sachems improved to 8-2-1.

Decimated Knights prevail

 

Despite missing five of its best starters with injuries, North Andover swept a quad-meet at home. Joey Valentino was 3-0 with three pins but it was fill ins like Anthony McCann and senior Jacob Williams who came up big time for the Knights. Will Schimmoeller, at 170, also had a big day with three wins.

Whittier 1, Wilmington 0

 

Whittier Tech opened the Ryan Richards coaching era with three wins in a quad-meet. Returnees Edgar Feliciano (126) and Ethan Calderwood (145) were both 3-0 for their new coach and heavyweight Chris McNulty won all three of his matches.
