Astros sweep into semis

Hunter Hazard had 16 kills and Brian Castle had 31 assists to lead No. 2 Pinkerton to a 3-0 sweep of No. 7 Bishop Guertin in the quarterfinals of the state tournament. The Astros will play either Hollis-Brookline or Goffstown, both teams they have beat this spring, in the state semis on Thursday at 5 p.m. from Nashua North High.

Owls win battle of powers

Matt Perry scored 16 service points and 42 assists and Sam Hovan had 27 kills as Timberlane beat Pinkerton 3-0 in the a battle of top New Hampshire teams. THe Owls improved to 13-1 while the Astros fell to 13-3.

Improving Nick Kasprzak had six blocks to spark Windham to a pivotal 3-1 victory over Pinkerton, Luke Leonard had 13 kills for the Jaguars (6-1) while Sean Galusha had 17 kills for the Astros (8-2).
