Lawrence's Jairo Vasquez threw a complete-game four-hitter, but the No. 10 Lancers lost to No. 7 Peabody 3-1 in the Division 1 North first round. 

Needing to win its final three games to qualify for the state tournament, Lawrence baseball got it done, completing the trifecta of wins with a 6-2 victory over Methuen. Jairo Vasquez pitched a complete game for the Lancers (10-10), who won five of their last seven games to qualify.

Thanks to a complete-game from Miguel Matos, Lawrence knocked off rival Andover 3-2 and keep its playoff hopes alive. The Lancers (9-10) have one game remaining against Methuen today, and must win it to qualify.

It was a dominate outing for Josh Gruenberg. The Andover junior tossed a complete game with 12 strikeouts as the Warriors took down Lawrence 7-1. Phil LeBlanc went 3 for 4 with a pair of RBIs.

Jairo Vasquez cranked a home run and then came on to close the door on the mound the final three innings to lead Lawrence to a 7-3 win over Dracut.

Jairo Vasquez tossed a complete-game two-hitter with seven strikeouts as Lawrence blanked Chelmsford 3-0. Ivinson Batista had the big two-run single in the sixth for the Lancers.

Methuen's Roan Marcano went the distance, holding off Lawrence for the 5-4 win. The Lancers scored twice in the top of the seventh but Marcano pitched out of the jam. He fanned nine and walked two. Anibal Pena had three hits for the Lancers, who had a runner on first with two outs but couldn't convert.

Leadoff man Kebler Peralta was 2 for 3 with two runs scored as Lawrence jumped out to a seven-run lead and held tough for a 10-9 victory over Billerica. Juan Medina was 2 for 3 and earned the win in releif. 

Trailing by a run with two outs in the top of the seventh, Lawrence baseball waved a runner all the way around from first off a double from John Batista. But the runner was gunned down at the plate to end the game, and the Lancers fell, 4-3, to Tewksbury.

Senior Jairo Vasquez threw a one-hitter for six innings and struck out 11 without giving up an earned run as Lawrence won its first game, 7-1 over Lincoln-Sudbury. Juan Medina and Bryan Guerrero were both 2 for 3 and scored twice.
