In the last regular season game of the season, the Hornets (14-2-3) clinched the Cape Ann League small title with a convincing win over Rockport (7-10-2). Junior wing Amelia Cohen scored two goals and dished out an assist. Other Manchester Essex goal scorers included Katie Gavin and Eliza Blatchford while Lee Stroman, Annie Osborne each notched assists as well.

Senior inner Jen Bishop scored just 51 seconds into the game with an assist from junior left wing Amelia Burke. Senior center halfback Meredith Crofton was another standout for Manchester Essex, who also had two goals called back.

The Amesbury Indians (4-7-2) fell to the Manchester-Essex Hornets (10-1-1) yesterday, 4-0. The Indians were out-shot 27-4, but Kaitlyn Goodwin made 18 saves for the Indians.

"We were overwhelmed with their aggression and strong play," said Indian coach Gail Kelleher. "We did adjust, but they're just a better team at this point of the year. Michelle Foley played her best game of the year, and Maggie Santosuosso also played extremely well."

After holding a superior Manchester Essex team scoreless in the first half, the Hornests quality showed through in the second half with five goals.

Triton coach Donna Andersen said she was proud her team never caved in and played hard throughout the entire game.
