Andover eliminated from postseason

For the second straight year, Andover has been eliminated from postseason play in the Division 1 North quarterfinal round as the Warriors fell to Framingham, 4-0. Goaltender Satin Zarkar put forward a solid effort with nine saves, but the Framingham attack was just too powerful according to coach Meghan Matson.

Warriors dominate, advance

Andover dominated Somerville 3-1 in the first round of the Div. 1 tournament. MacKenzie Koravos, Jess Morrow and Kacie McManus scored for the Warriors, who will face the Framingham-Salem winner, probably Wednesday.

The Andover girls soccer team handed Masconomet its first loss of the season thanks huge contributions from Jess Morrow (two goals, assist) and Jenn Caro (two goals). Scoring the fifth goal for Andover was Alex Bengston. Satin Zarkar finished with six saves in goal.

Central clinches MVC

Thanks to Rachel Bourque (goal), Gia O'Connor (assist) and Lauren Hoole (7 saves), the Central Catholic girls soccer team clinched the top spot in the MVC for the first time since 2001 with a 1-0 victory over Andover. Sam Arnold had nine saves for the Golden Warriors.
