Amesbury comes back, beats Manchester Essex in OT

Trailing Manchester Essex 39-34 going into the fourth quarter, Amesbury mounted a late comeback to win 63-60 in overtime. Ciara Sullivan hit the game-winning shot with 20 seconds left in overtime, and Sadie Kermelewicz iced it with free throws down the stretch. Catherine Laforte also hit three of her four 3-pointers in the fourth quarter and overtime, and Alli Napoli led the team with 21 points. Amesbury also welcomed back leading scorer Flannery O'Connor, who scored 9 points in limited minutes as she works her way back from an ankle injury. Coach Matt Willis said O'Connor won't play in the team's next game, but has made good progress.

Kennedy twins have big day

Triton girls basketball may have lost 54-49 to Manchester Essex on Tuesday, but Alex and Meredith Kennedy had their best showing of the season together. The twins each scored 17 points, helping the Vikings mount a late fourth quarter comeback that fell just short. Triton fell to 6-9 on the season with the loss.
