Behind red-hot Eric Hooker's medalist 72 score, Andover's golf team tied Newton South for first with a 307 at the Division 1 North tournament at the Beverly Country Club.

The Pentucket Sachems (9-5) continued to roll yesterday, building their win streak to five games while beating the North Andover Scarlet Knights (6-5), 157-146. Jason Steele (34), Matt Pendergast (34), Serge Smaila (26), Ryan Swanson (24), Cam Plummer (22), and Vito Martello (19) all contributed for the Sachems.

The Pentucket Sachems (8-5) won their fourth match in a row against the North Reading Hornets (1-8), 149-120. Vito Martello led the way with 30 points, while Matt Pendergast (29), Jason Steele (26), Serge Smaila (25), and Josh Milewski (23) added the support.

Pentucket's Vito Martello had a big day on the links. On the par 4 seventh hole, he croaked a 289-yard drive that landed on the green. He one-putted to notch an Eagle. Martello shot a 39 to lead Pentucket past Rockport.

Pentucket edged Hamilton-Wenham 140-135. Jason Steele scored 35 points, Vito Martello scored 24 points and Ryan Swanson scored 21 points.

Despite 28 points from Jason Steele and Serge Smaila, Pentucket fell to Triton 164-134. Ryan Swanson added 23 points for the Sachems.
