Brooks wins on late 25-2 run

The final score didn't tell the story as Brooks roared back from a 7-point deficit in the final 8 minutes to beat Marianapolis Prep 65-50. That's a 25-2 run! That punched Brooks' ticket to its fifth straight New England Prep Class B finale.
The locals are looking for their third straight title. Saturday was a rematch of the 2017 title game and unbeaten, top-ranked Brooks (25-0) will take on No. 2 Rivers Sunday at Clark University in Worcester at 5 p.m. for the crown.
Preston Santos had 15 points, Brian Wright-Kinsey 14 and Keigan Kerby 9 for the Green and White. But Jacob Iwowo (6 points) may have been the MVP with his stifling defense and 10 rebounds.
"He was everywhere," said coach John McVeigh.
Junior Tyler Burton led Marianapolis with 24.
Rivers has two good ones in senior Tyler Aronson and 6-6 Terrence Clark of Boston, the No. 1 ranked freshman in the country, according to some. Brooks beat the Red Wings 70-54 on Feb. 10.
