North Andover falls to Concord-Carlisle in North quarters

NORTH ANDOVER - The North Andover boys soccer team had a tremendous season. The Scarlet Knights went 16-1-1 in the regular season, won the MVC Small title and went into the Division 2 North tournament as the top overall seed.

But none of that mattered on Tuesday, when historically dominant Concord-Carlisle came to town and quickly proved who the better team was.

Knights clinch!

Austin Ward and Ryan McDonald scored to help North Andover boys soccer beat Chelmsford 2-1. With the win, the Scarlet Knights officially clinched the MVC Small championship.

Pelletier PK

With five minutes left in the game, Lowell was handed a red card and North Andover's Andy Pelletier converted the PK. That's how it ended, a 2-2 tie. North Andover hit the crossbar with about four minutes left and the Knights thought the ball trickled in but the refs ruled otherwise.

Huge Knights' win

 

 Luke SiSalvo scored his second goal of the game with six minutes left to lift unbeaten North Andover to a 3-2 victory over arch-rival Masconomet. Goalie Sam Naftal played outstanding for the Knights (6-0), stopping two breakaways and making 10 saves overall.
