Allie Morgenstern was 3 for 3 with an RBI and Meg Hartnett was 2 for 4 with three RBIs as Andover's softball team moved back to .500 (7-7) with a 12-3 win over North Andover.

Warriors Keep it Rolling

ANDOVER — After a clutch win against MVC rival Haverhill, the Andover girls made it two in a row with a 16-3 win over Lawrence (3-12) in five innings.

The victory puts the Golden Warriors back at an even .500 (6-6) for the season, and gives the team a little more momentum heading into a week where they will face four MVC opponents. For the time being however, coach Steve Tisbert and his squad are happy to put the team's previous four-game losing streak farther behind them.

Warriors bounce back

After losing to Haverhill 5-1 their last meeting, the Andover softball team came back for an 8-4 win, snapping the Hillies' six-game win streak. Tori Roche went 3 for 4 with a run and an RBI and Kathleen Hartnett picked up the win. Haverhill's Michaela Kane had a home run as well.

Kathleen Hartnett struck out four in a five-hit win for Andover, which knocked off Pentucket, 6-2. Meg Hartnett and Katherine Powers each had two-run hits to break it open for the Warriors late. Tori Roche went 3 for 3.

Red-hot Meg Hartnett, who was also the winning pitcher, was 4 for 5 and had three RBIs as Andover pounded Lawrence 14-5. The Warriors (3-0) have now scored 41 runs in their first three games.

Golden Warriors rally

Trailing by five runs, Andover softball rallied all the way back to defeat Chelmsford 8-6. Tori Roche drove home the go-ahead runs with a two-run single in the sixth.

Andover hit parade

 

Andover's softball team opened its season with a bang, clouting 22 hits while drilling North Andover 19-2 in five innings. Amy Bordogna, Tori Roche and Meg Hartnett all had three hits and Andrea Papa drove in four runs. Meg Hartnett and younger sister Kathleen Hartnett combined on a three-hitter for the win.
