Salem avenges loss in tourney

 

SALEM — This time, Andrew Fichera and the Salem boys soccer team was ready for defending champion Pinkerton.

Back in September, Pinkertion had snapped the Blue Devils' four-game winning streak to open the season, with a solid 1-0 victory. Six weeks later, Salem got some revenge at the most opportune time with a 3-1 victory in the first round of the Division 1 tournament.

Brochu dominates the field

A hat trick was not enough for senior Andrew Brochu. The dynamic midfielder also tallied an assist to lift the Pinkerton boys soccer team to a 5-0 victory over Keene. The win put Pinkerton over .500 for the first time this season.

Lancers down Astros in OT

Pinkerton scored in the game's opening minute but couldn't hold the lead as Londonderry went on to win 2-1 in overtime. Max Hastings scored for the Lancers on a penalty kick in the second half, and then Tom Stanley scored the winner in overtime. Cole Perry scored the goal for Pinkerton.

Resurgent Astros

 

Pinkerton's boys soccer team started the season slow but it continued its recent upswing with a 1-0 victory over previously unbeaten Salem. Colin Coutts scored in the first half on an assist from Cobi Moore and generally controlled play throughout.

Pinkerton bounces back

Coming into the game winless and facing an undefeated Bedford team, the Pinkerton boys soccer team rallied from a late two-goal deficit to force overtime and pull out a 2-2 tie. Cobi Moore and Sean Muller had the goals, and Hayden Pavao had eight saves.
