Hajdukiewicz effort for naught

Luke Hajdukiewicz blasted a three-run home run to put Brooks ahead in the eighth inning, but Thayer rallied for four in the bottom of the inning for a 10-9 victory. Hajdukiewicz finished the day 3 for 4 with the homer, two doubles and six RBIs.

Home run Derby

Brooks won the home run derby, with five compared to Roxbury Latin's four, but the hosts, playing in their little bandbox, had the last and most lethal — a seventh-inning three-run shot — in a 13-11 walk-off win.
 
 
Luke Hajdukiewicz homered twice in the loss for Brooks. Cole Goodman, Paul Capozzi and Danny Philbrick all homered.

Breen comes through

Winning pitcher Paul Capozzi and Andover's Alex Hajdukiewicz combined on a 4-hitter and freshman Connor Breen had two hits a run and an RBI as Brooks beat Groton 5-1.

Hulshult big in clutch

Andrew Hulshult connected for a two-run double with two outs in the seventh inning to keep Brooks alive, but Nobles scored a run in the bottom of the inning to down the Green and White 6-5.

Hughes wins it

 

Jack Hughes of Andover singled in Paul Capozzi with two outs in the bottom of the seventh to give Brooks a 3-2 win over Milton Academy. He also picked up the win with two innings of one-hit relief, Cole Goodman of North Andover was 2 for 3 and scored twice for the Green and White (2-1).

Collins powers Brooks

 

Will Collins went 3 for 4 with two doubles and five RBIs and pitched the seventh inning in relief to get the win as Brooks opened its baseball season with a 12-11 win over St. Paul's. Danny Philbrick was 2 for 4, scored three times and had two RBIs and freshman Connor Breen of North Andover was 2 for 4, played flawless at shortstop and scored the winning run in the bottom of the seventh.
