But the No. 2 Knights were stunned by No. 15 Boston Latin, who scored four runs off ace Evan Glew (4.2 innings, 2 earned runs) and eked out a 4-3 shocker.

Knights' streak halted by Lawrence at 7

NORTH ANDOVER — Nobody in the state was hotter than North Andover High, coming into yesterday.
But's just so darn tough to sweep a three-game week in the Merrimack Valley Conference.
The Knights hosted Lawrence and just couldn't get things going at the plate, falling to the Lancers, 5-1.
Sophomore Abel Acosta collected his first career win on the mound as the Knights' win streak was snapped at seven.
"Abel just changed speeds and threw strikes," said Lancer coach Brendan Neilon of the righty, who went 4.1 innings and allowed one run on two hits with four walks. "He kept them off balance and was fortunate to get enough fly ball outs."
Senior Brahiam Ortega came on for the working-man's save, going the final 2.2 innings.
"He's the senior. He wanted the ball in a game like this. He just took charge," said Neilon.
Offensively, Ortega and Miguel Ponce delivered big RBI hits to provide some late cushion for the Lancers, who improve to 5-3.
Jordaly Vasquez had a pair of hits for Lawrence on the day.
North Andover managed just three hits all day, one each from Chris Bosco, Brian Varoutsos and Joey Kramer.
Now 4-3 in the league, Lawrence faces three more tests next week with Lowell, Tewksbury and Billerica on the agenda.
