Jessica Leone scored with seven minutes left but No. 4 Watertown-Belmont held on to beat Andover 2-1 in a Division 1 first round game.

Andover coach Kevin Drew said, "We had plenty of chances at the end. We just missed. It came down to the last second."

Playing with the flu, Caroline Hughes set up Hannah Littlewood for the go-ahead goal with just over five minutes left, then potted the insurance score on an empty-netter in the final minute to lead Andover past Billerica 2-0.

Jojo Olson notched her first career varsity hat trick as Andover hockey rolled past Acton-Boxboro 4-1. Olson had never scored more than one goal in a game heading into the night.

Caroline Hughes scored four goals, two assisted by her sister Jillian, and Andover beat Tewksbury-Methuen 5-3. Jess Leone, Emma Plourde and Krystal Brighton helped hold T-M scoring machine Amanda Conway to two goals.

Methuen's Caty Flagg made 22 saves for Austin Prep, which blanked Andover 5-0.

Caroline Hughes had two goals and Jillian Hughes had two assists as Andover ripped Central Catholic 7-1 in girls hockey.

Caroline Hughes scored the game-winning goal early in the third period as Andover won 2-1 over Austin Prep. 

Hughes added an assist and Meghan Johnson stopped 19 shots. 

The Andover girls hockey team shocked highly regarded Arlington Catholic, a veteran team that was a Division 1 state finalist each of the last three years, 2-1. JoJo Olson and Jillian Hughes scored for the Warriors, Jess Leone had two assists and Meghan Johnson stood out with 31 saves.

Jessica Leone scored two of Andover's three third period goals as the Golden Warriors kicked off the season with a 4-3 victory over Billerica. Emma Plourde and Caroline Curtin each added a goal for the winners.
