Londonderry hockey advances to first title game in program history with win over Pinkerton

Murphy's Law

Pinkerton, a No. 7 seed, stunned No. 2 Salem 2-0 late Saturday night in the New Hampshire Division 1 quarterfinals. Steve Leonard scored in the first period on an end-to-end rush and Ethan Landry sealed it with a late empty-net goal. The Astros' junior keeper Brendan Murphy, who had his first career shutout, and Salem's Sam MacDonald each had 24 saves.

Soucy delivers

The beat goes on for Salem, which improved to 18-1-1 overall and 14-1-1 in Division 1 with a 2-1 come-from-behind win over Pinkerton. Ethan Landry scored on the power play just 32 seconds into the game but the Devils' Cody Soucy evened it in the second and potted the game-winner early in the third.

Gio the man in OT

Gio Corsetto took a pass from Tyler Poole and scored 4:44 into overtime to finish off Pinkerton's come-from-behind 3-2 victory over Nashua South. After the Astros fell behind 2-0, Poole began the rally with a goal in the second period, then Ethan Landry tied it up early in the third.

Astro deadlock

 

Ethan Landry scored with 24 seconds left to give Pinkerton a 2-1 lead but Manchester Memorial pulled its goalie and scored with four seconds left to tie the Astros again, 2-2. Ryan Christie had a goal and an assist for Pinkerton.
