Maeve Awiszus had never won an individual event at the state swim meet during her first three years at Andover High so her goal throughout her senior season was to win just one.
She did one better yesterday, tying for first in the 500 freestyle (5:05.72) and winning the 100 backstroke (59:14).

It went down to the final event, the 400 freestyle relay, but Soojin Kim's blistering anchor leg wasn't quite enough and A-B held on 3:47.09-3:48.88. Andover's last loss was to Chelmsford in the 2008 season finale and early that season A-B also beat the Warriors.
