With Mikayla Guthrie out for at least a coiple weeks with a broken arm, sophomore Abbie Karalis was moved up front with terrific results. She scored all three goals, one on a pretty header from a well-placed Megan McCann corner kick, in a 3-0 North Andover win over Dracut.

Central received goals from four different players, Courtney Walsh, Alli Wiggins, Aly Spencer and Kylie Regan.

Wiggins added two assists and Megan Rauseo had one assist.

Julia Morandi scored her first varsity goal and Mikayla Guthrie scored on a breakaway with about 5 minutes remaining to lead North Andover girls soccer 3-2 over Methuen.

It was the first time Taylor Casale started a game for the North Andover girls soccer team, and she made the most of it. Casale scored her first varsity goal in the second half to lead the Knights to a 1-0 win over Billerica. Megan Collins had eight saves for North Andover.

Haverhill and North Andover girls soccer played to a scoreless tie. For the Hillies, Marlayna Buco made eight saves while the Knights' Meg Collins had 10.

Veronica Alois scored two goals as Andover won its season-opener, 2-0 over North Andover.

Lisa Rasanen has enjoyed tremendous success as a player and as an assistant coach and it looks like it will carry over to head coaching duties. In her debut, she guided North Andover girls soccer to a 3-0 win over Lowell. Stephanie Stabile, Megan McCann and Leah Chittick scored.
