Pinkerton Astros Baseball '13

Another Astro shocker

Rookie Pinkerton coach Steve Campo earned a semifinal date with his old coach and alma mater as the Astros, seeded 13th, pulled off their second straight playoff upset over Spaulding, 4-0, in Division 1 baseball.
Campo's Astros will now collide with top-seeded Londonderry in the Division 1 semifinals at Holman Stadium.
Chris Gerossie's infield hit to drive in a run in the first provided all the offense Pinkerton starter Andrew Herlihy would need. The senior went six shutout frames for the win, allowing six hits and striking out four and walking three.
"He commanded his curve ball when he had to," said Campo. "And that was the difference."
