Lawrence Lancers Girls Basketball '12-'13

Haverhill's girls ended a tough season in style by rallying for a season-ending 42-39 victory over Lawrence. Molly Hoopes ended her career with 12 points, 21 rebounds and 7 blocks to lead the way and Felicia Murray and Marlena Buco (12 points) had seven points apiece in a huge 16-point fourth quarter. The Hillies controlled the boards as Murray complemented Hoopes with 17 rebounds.

Braga state hurdles champ

North Reading's John Braga fended off a late challenge from New Leadership's Wycliffe Perry to win the state Diision 4 55 hurdles title at Reggie Lewis Center. Braga turned in a time of 8.12, just 3/100th of a second in front of Perry.

Upset win

Lawrence pulled off an upset yesterday for its second victory this winter, knocking off 9-6 Notre Dame of Tyngsoboro 52-43 in girls basketball action. 

Karla Dominguez netted a team-high 16 points for the Lancers (2-14).

Galloway-Burke, Rangers roll

It was all Methuen in a 62-24 win over Lawrence in the seventh-place game of the Greater Lawrence Christmas Tourney. Abby Galloway-Burke led all scorers with 18 points and Amanda Petrow added 14. Genesis Santana led the Lancers with seven points.
