Amanda Petrow had quite a game, scoring 25 points and grabbing 19 rebounds while Abby Galloway-Burke added 11 points and 11 rebounds to lead Methuen girls basketball 54-51 over Lowell in girls basketball. 

For the first time since losing Morgan Lumb to a sprained ankle Jan. 15, North Andover girls basketball earned a victory. 

The Scarlet Knights posted a 45-37 victory over Lowell behind Michaela Mello's season-high 15 points to go with four rebounds and four steals. 

Entering the final quarter with just a single basket, Jessica Witten's eight points led a 17-2 Andover run to finish the game as the Golden Warriors rallied past Lowell 47-37.

For the first time since 2010, Methuen girls basketball is headed to the tournament. The Rangers won their 10th game with a 54-52 victory over Lowell. 

Amanda Petrow posted 18 points and 18 rebounds. Abby Galloway-Burke recorded 18 points and 10 boards. 

Amanda Williams led all scorers with 18 points and added four steals while Casey McLaughlin contributed 14 points and 11 rebounds as Central Catholic easily defeated Lowell, 50-26.

Senior forward Michaela Mello scored 11 points and added seven rebounds while Mackenzie Mello collected 13 rebounds and made five steals to lead North Andover girls basketball 64-32 over Lowell.

Jackie Alois scored a team-high 13 points, grabbed eight steals and added four assists as Andover rolled over former rival Lowell 50-29.

Pinkerton broke open a tight game with an eye-popping 27-4 third-quarter advantage and whipped Lowell, 69-46, in the Greater Lawrence Christmas Tourney fifth-place game.

Val Martin (13), Corina Moore (11) and Marissa Stacy (11) combined for 37 points for the winners.

NORTH ANDOVER – It might still be early-season basketball, but the Central Catholic girls are more than ready to heave out the opening salvo.
