Brooks to finals

 

The Brooks field hockey team advanced to the Class B prep finals today by defeating Middlesex 3-2. Danielle Doherty, who played a terrific all-around game, scored the games's only goal two minutes into the second half for the No. 2-seed Green and White (16-4) on an assist from Alesandra Miller. Allie Barry also played well for Brooks, which will face No. 1-seed St. Mark's at 11 a.m. today at Loomis.

Keely qualifies

 After an impressive performance at the regional meet, UNH senior Keely Maguire of Georgetown has qualified for the NCAA Div. 1 cross country nationals.

Maguire received one of four individual regional bids to qualify for the national meet after she placed 16th overall at the NCAA Northeast Regional Friday afternoon at Hammonassett State Park. Maguire, who earned All-Region honors for the second straight year, completed the 6-kilometer course in a time of 20:22.5.   Maguire is the first member of the UNH women’s cross country team to qualify for national championships since Cathy Parker made the trip in back-to-back seasons in 2006 and 2007.
