Lennon, Gauvin shine for Rangers

Methuen took second in the MVC Division 2 Meet. Junior Kelly Lennon won the 200 IM and 500 freestyle and freshman Rachelle Gauvin captured the 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke for the Rangers.

Methuen's swim team clinched its second straight winning season with an easy 102-79 victory over Lowell. Jenna Albrecht and Kelly Lennon both won two individual events and were on two winning relays for the Rangers (7-5).

Kelly Lennon won the 200 IM, 100 backstroke and swam on the winning 200 medley relay and 400 freestyle relay as Methuen topped Burlington 92-83.

Junior Kenny Lennon won the 100 butterfly, had the next event off, then hit the pool again to prevail in the 500 freestyle in Methuen's 99-85 victory over Dracut. "That's pretty difficult to do and she posted two very good times," said head coach Jason Smith.

Methuen freshmen Rachelle Gauvin and Jenna Albrecht both won two individual events despite not swimming in their specialties, and were on two winning relay teams as Methuen ripped North Andover 91-70 to improve to 3-2. Junior Kelly Lennon also had a big meet for the Rangers.
