Lonndonderry girls grab crown

 

The Division 1 meet did not go as Londonderry head coach Ed Burgess expected, but he wasn't complaining about the result.

Thanks to a late surge, the Lancers captured the crown for the first time since 1994, finishing with 89 points, five fewer than runner-up Bishop Guertin.

First for Oligny

 

Lauren Oligny placed first for the first time, pacing Timberlane's girls cross country team to a 23-36 victory over Salem. Caryn Ojemann also ran well for the Owls, who also won the boys meet, taking third.

Lancer depth

 

The Londonderry girls cross country team displayed its depth yesterday while winning the Nashua Invitational.

While defeating a strong runner-up Bedford team (48-56), the Lancers finished 6-9-10-11-12 with a time split of just 24 seconds. Alissa Rogers paved the way in sixth with a 19:41 while Sydney Lagueux (19:50) led the parade of four.
