Central wins at Andover

With four first place finishes, Central Catholic won the Andover Boosters Track Meet with 73 points. Andover finished second with 54.

Individual winners for Central were Katie Equi in the 400-meter hurdles, Kylie Regan in the 800 and Lanie Jowett in the mile. All three of those also were part of the Raiders winning 2-mile relay team. Regan's winning time of 2:17.5 is the area's season best.

Equi holds off Puccia, Central edges Andover

With the decisive event coming down to the wire, Central Catholic anchor Katie Equi was able to hold off hard-charging Alex Puccia of Andover to win the 4x400 relay in 4:14.25 and give the Raiders a 76 1/2-68 1/2 win over the Golden Warriors. Kylie Regan added wins in the 800 and mile for the winners.

Two records fall

North Andover had several highlights in track despite losing a 95-50 verdict to Andover. Katie McManus broke a 19-year-old North Andover school record with a 34-3 in the shot put, and Julia Mehlman, who won three events, broke her own record in the 200 (25.60).
