Amanda Petrow netted 16 points and added 18 rebounds. Abby Galloway-Burke had 11 points and 14 rebounds but Methuen girls basketball lost 68-38 to Lowell. 

Central girls basketball outscored Lowell 16-0 to win 53-32 over Lowell.

Amanda Williams sat most of the first half with two fouls. She was huge in the second half and scored 17 points for the game.

Ally Fazio scored 15 points and added five assists as Andover rolled over former postseason rival Lowell 61-36. Jackie Alois added 12 points for the winners.

Julia Titone (12 points) and Jillian Madden combined for eight of North Andover’s 10 overtime points as the Scarlet Knights held off Lowell 65-61 in the third-place game of the Greater Lawrence Christmas Tourney. Pam Coufos scored 10 of her team-high 18 points in the fourth to help force the extra period. Lowell’s Ginelle Cola scored a tournament-high 28 points.

NORTH ANDOVER — When the girls’ brackets came out for the Greater Lawrence Christmas Tournament, it might have been easy to extrapolate a possible championship game between the top two programs in the area.

Casey McLaughlin's had a monster 24 point, 8 rebound, 5 assist game as Central Catholic topped Lowell 55-46.

A strong Lowell defense whittled away Methuen's early lead and sent the Red Raiders to a 59-48 victory. For the Rangers, Beka Costa had 13 points and 9 deflections, Amanda Petrow had 12 points and 13 rebounds, Abby Galloway-Burke registered a game-high 16 points and added 8 rebounds.
