Konovalchik's big day can't save Brooks

CONCORD — Sophomore Andrew Konovalchik recorded the first 100-yard rushing game of his career and scored two touchdowns, but Brooks lost to Middlesex 35-13 yesterday afternoon.

Konovalchik, a North Andover resident, rushed for 101 yards on 15 carries, including a 28-yard touchdown. He also caught an 18-yard score from quarterback Coy Candelario.

Brooks shutout in opener

NORTH ANDOVER — Brooks drew a tough opening-day opponent and stuggled to find an offensive identity during a 34-0 loss to Roxbury Latin, last night at Merrimack College.

"It was a tough opener against a good opponent," said Brooks head coach Alex Konovalchik. "We hope to rebound in week two win a win over Groton."
