Long road to victory

North Andover wasn't going to let a long road trip to Falmouth stand in the way of tourney success, winning 6-2. Driven by stellar defensive efforts from Shane Wescott, Cody Young, John Boyle, Steve O'Grady and Glenn Hartford, the Knights pitched a shutout for all but a one-minute span where Falmouth scored its goals. Freshman Tom Stabile was 6 of 11 on draws, helping North Andover garner a Division 2 East first round date with No. 2 seed Concord-Carlisle Friday.

Smooth as Silk

Playing "probably our most complete game of the season," according to head coach Steve Connolly, North Andover still needed a Jake Silk goal in overtime to topple powerful Beverly, 8-7. Silk took a great feed from Jim Warden 2:13 into the extra session and converted his lone shot on net. A yeoman's effort from defenders Shane Wescott, Cody Young, and John Boyle set the stage for victory.

Capobianco makes 15 saves

Cosmo Capobianco made 15 saves and North Andover boys lacrosse gave a strong effort, but Masconomet beat the Scarlet Knights 9-5 to lock up the CAL title.

Masco led 6-5 with 4:04 left in the contest, then pulled away in the final minutes.

Cosmo Capobianco made 16 saves during North Andover's 6-4 win over Newburyport and eight of those saves came in the fourth quarter when the Knights scored four unanswered goals.  Jimmy Warden had a goal and three assists and Dante Querci had a pair of goals for North Andover (3-1).

Jack Murphy had two early goals to keep things close and Cosmo Capobianco was a rock in the Knights' net.
