North Andover's Tristan Latham and Georgetown's Travis Lane helped Phillips take both games in a double-header against Deerfield Academy. Latham went 4 for 6 with an RBI, and Lane took a perfect game into the fifth inning before a single broke up his bid. The wins did clinch the No.1 seed for Phillips in the Central New England Prep tournament.

Two local Phillips girls lacrosse standouts recorded eight points each in the team's 17-14 loss to Deerfield Academy, with Andover's Katherine McIntire notching six goals and two assists and Windham's Beth Krikorian scoring four goals with four assists.

Freshman Dallion Johnson of Haverhill pumped in 22 points and nailed six 3-pointers for Phillips in a 69-67 loss to Deerfield.

ANDOVER — Post-grad T.J. Urbanik from Pinkerton Academy took the opening kickoff back for a score and Phillips cruised past Deerfield 44-22 for its first win of the season.

Will Sirmon (10 carries, 201 yards, 3 TDs) added a 64-yard TD run later in the quarter and he added two long runs in the third. Urbanik gave the Big Blue (1-5) a 37-0 lead on a 4-yard run late in the third. 

DEERFIELD — Robert Jones and his favorite receiver Ben Anthony had little problem finding pay dirt yesterday, but it wasn't enough to power Phillips to a victory as the Big Blue dropped a tight 27-23 victory at Deerfield Academy.

After the fact, officials discovered a scoring error and Timberlane's close loss Tuesday eventually became a 67-63 win over Winnacunnet. Matt Rose won the triple jump and 300 hurdles and Jacob Huberdeau had an impressive win in the 1,600.

The North Andover trio of Katherine Sweetser, Miranda An and Ally Ty led Phillips to a 105-80 win over Deerfield.

ANDOVER — Jumaane Ford and Max Anthony each surpassed 100 yards rushing and Jack Belluche picked off two passes as Phillips Andover beat Deerfield Saturday 32-24.

Anthony finished with 102 yards rushing and scored on runs of 18 and 2 yards. The host Big Blue led 12-0 after a quarter on an Anthony TD and a 48-yard interception return by Belluche, a junior cornerback from Andover.

Phillips junior Ravenne Nasser of Methuen pitched a two-hit shutout, striking out 12. She also went 3 for 4 with two RBIs as Phillips won 9-0 over Deerfield on Saturday.
